Christmas cooking and baking

    Just put the marzipan on the Christmas cake, the thickness is just under a quarter of a inch,i bought 3 packets of it weighing 454g each. Price was £2. Each. I make the base myself by putting 3 layers of thick cardboard together with celotape and cover with foil.

    Just iced it with royal icing, 8 whites of large eggs and 4 1/2 lb of icing sugar.
    I like to make it very thick but we only have a bit at a time.

    I can’t stop stuttering. That is a beautiful thing, Loggie.

    My gran used to make me cakes that looked like that. Only the cake was that dark devil’s food cake under the soft white icing that never set up hard.
