Gosh that really was a lose shave CK. Thank goodness it was only the decking that got damaged and not the house. You've done a grand job with the repairs. Will you be staining the new wood or leaving it to weather in? I like the thought of solar lights on your posts so let's hope the one you've already put in situ works well for you.

It is treated wood, so I will let it "weather" for about a month, then stain it grey to match the rest of it.

Captain, you said April is not the busiest month for tornadoes. What month is? I can't imagine more than 800 tornadoes.

Jerry, May is normally the busiest with about 150 on average. This year due to having had a la ninja bringing in all of the moisture and the early hot wether in the south, has caused it to be a very busy April. My friends in Georgia said that normally there April is usually in the low 80's for highs. This year, it has been in the 90's the whole month. And they live in central Georgia.

Yes, we have been having 90 degree temps here in Texas for the month, too. We generally don't use the a/c so early in the year. We have had winds 25 to 40 mph too. I try to get things done outside before it gets too windy in the morning. I'm glad your porch wasn't more damaged. I think the solar lights would be nice outside on the posts.
