Sounds pretty bad Kay. Sending my most positive thoughts to your Mom and those affected.

A quick update, The group of residents that live on the same road as mom, about a dozen... have been working hard to restore the road which was partially washed out, and the bridge. Our property still has a lot of standing water, mud and debris.
My mom has been going stir crazy, not being able to do much. She is 84, so it is difficult for her physically to do heavy lifting and such. She is also displaced which is tough on her.
A family friend is going up Friday to assist, and then probably take mom home with her to Ft. Collins. That way she will be safe.
The living conditions and life styles have been drastically changed. They are in recovery mode. There will be much to do, and decisions to be made. Unfortunately, things will be hampered with winter approaching and cold weather. The people of Estes are going to have a tough time getting out. It's a mountain highway and will be about 100 miles out of their way until the roads can be rebuilt.
Meanwhile, the flood water is making its way eastward, which is the South Platte River and the Platte River, here in Nebraska. It has flooded farmlands and some small communities. At least they had fore warning! officials say the water is filled with debris, and chemicals. Yuck
    What a force of nature!

Definitely, koszta- I told Mom to stay out of the cabin. She had some people come Friday, that were volunteering to help. They had all the protection to be cleaning and hauling things. We are so grateful that there are people helping out of the goodness of their hearts.
They did get the bridge fixed and are no longer trapped. They can get to Estes Park.
