Oh, Eileen. Your cottage is wonderful. Thanks for a tour of your village everything looks wonderful. Just the way I pictured a little village in Scotland.
Oh my gosh I almost said that too but like Frank I thought it was ridiculous also!!LOL!!! No Eileen I could not imagine sitting there in front of everyone!!! Maybe that has just changed my mind about going back in time!!!LOL!!!
Glenda it was quite simply a toilet!!!! Your not dumb in the least - after all there are plenty of American words I haven't a clue about. :-? I'm just soooooooo glad we all have indoor plumbing nowadays!!
I was thinking it could have been a fountain or well...something involving water, anyway. My daughter pegged it, though. What a different world we are in now. (a guillotine? LOL!!!) What amazing pictures, I wish my town were even slightly as picturesque - thank you so much for the tour. This is wonderful, and the River Almond is so peaceful.
Eileen, what an incredible place to live. Are those old Roman roads and walls. I can almost see the soldiers walking down them. And I wanna live in your house. Got room?
I really did enjoy seeing your village. But don't you think it could be improved upon with a new strip mall with miles of asphalt and a Starbucks on every other block? I really think it is time to modernize. I am so envious. Yesterday I drove from the foothills of the Cascade Mountains down to the Puget Sound and all the new super developments brought me to tears. I need to get out of here! I will be arriving at your place next week with five dogs and maybe Ron! muddy
8) The tour was great. I love old homes and churches. Just a beautiful place to live . I was thinking it could have been were people get married. Guess its because in away the pic's are romantic. I know why (my 17 years being married is next month) lol.
Wow, thanks for the geat scenic tour. How beautiful and serene everything looks. I'll bring hubby for a tour when he comes in. Look for us behind the tombstone. 8)
Looks like I'll have to clear my other back garden to make room for a marquee!!! Better start thinking about ordering food and drink for you folks too. Now how many air beds is that I'll need altogether? Muddy if you could see just a mile or so up the road from our vilage your heart would break. We used to having rolling countryside all around us but sadly now there is the Livingston Football ground and an enormous shopping centre which is being expanded on even as I write!! Thank goodness our village will remain exactly how it is!!! Here is what I'm talking about: http://www.deaf-alerter.com/Almondvale.htm While it may be convenient to have all these different retail oulets near to hand I still hanker after the pheasant, roe deer, partridge, hares and skylarks (to name but a few) that used to inhabit that space. :'(
