I was almost well after three weeks of The Crud…one sort of relapse but by Christmas day I was feeling much better….not completely well, but considerably better.

Then I got up Monday morning and felt just awful, and it got even worse as the day progressed…all the symptoms had returned, plus my chest was so tight and the coughing seemed worse than it ever had. I was so worried I might be contagious, (I'd never forgive myself if I passed this on to my grandbabies) which was the only reason I called the Doctor and persuaded them to squeeze me in, otherwise I would have just sucked it up and pushed through like I usually do.

Diagnosis - bronchitis with viral complications. I'm now taking so many pills I'm rattling, and my arm is still sore from the shot. I can't even say I feel a whole lot better, but my Doctor said it will take several days to start feeling like I'm on the other side of this. He told me I was wise to come in, that I might have ended up in the emergency room New Years Day if not. This is NOT something that will get better on its own without getting much worse first. :(

I have never been sick for this long with ANYTHING! I had it for a week or so before I posted about it here, so it's been almost a month and I feel almost as bad now as I did when I first came down with this, just with some different symptoms.

Oh geez... so sorry to hear that you're still sick. I just figured you were all better. Glad they put you on some meds and hope they start to work so you can get over this stuff. :(

Ronni, I'm so sorry to hear that you aren't feeling better--bronchitis is nothing to laugh about. Take your pills, rest as much as you can, and know that we are all pulling for you to feel better, fast!

Oh crud, Ronni. I am sorry to hear you are still sick, but glad that you finally got into the doctor since you weren't feeling better. I really hope you are feeling better soon though. My next to oldest finally went to the doctor last Friday, got a zpack, but is still coughing and hacking out the junk in his lungs and he is leaving tomorrow to go to Haiti...Hopefully he will do better there than here with the weather.

Talked to Doc we clean for. She works ER-lot of people getting the CRUD.I think vaporizer with vicks in it helped a lot here. One lady put vicks on her feet and warm socks.

I got a Zpak too, amongst other things…..antihistamine type things, a heavy duty expectorant, I'm can't even remember what the shot was for.

But you know, as low-tech as it might be in this day of Zpaks and expensive medicines, nothing makes me feel quite as good as Vicks does when that gooey mess is slathered on my chest and I'm inhaling it with every breath.
