I crochet and sew when I have time, which is not often.

My Mother knits and crochets and usually donates her things to hospitals and nursing homes. She makes lap robes for the nursing homes, and baby things for poor or unwed mothers at the hospitals. She will be 92 this month, and still does it. She has done that since she was a young woman, or maybe a teenager. No one but God ever kept count.

kudos and hugs to you amazing Mother… post some of her work would luv to see…

I don’t crochet.. my grandmother was a fancy lady who crocheted large bed covers. Knobby designs triangle, and tightly shapes of great skill and attention, designed bed spread for twin queen and king. I still have them. They are a work of art. I truly treasure them. To bad I never learned her fabulous skill.

Hi Pacnorwest, this was done years ago and it's a dogs blanket in one of our dog beds.

This is a cardigan top, the wool/ yarn was given to me.

Going off topic,I also do a bit of sewing but it didn't turn out like i wanted to, it's more like a smock so I'm going to put some pleats in the middle going down. I already started on it by undoing the stitches on the bib part.

Timmy's Other Blankie.jpg Here is a blanket I made for my grandson when he was born. I will have to climb up to the top shelf of my closet for a blanket my Mother made for me. I have a doily or two also that she made, and a few other small items I think.

Be careful climbing up in your closet.. the darnedest things can happen when we least expect it.
Will luv to see you mom work too.

I still have my grandmother quilts and crocheted bedspreads. They are beautiful and works of art. Unfortunately now my kids don’t like them or have space to save them. So where to find a good place for them to be protected from ending up in trash or goodwill. I’m going to google and see what I can find out.
