    I love these pics. I would love to have a place where I could have some ducks! That Pete. He knows how to have a good time, for a cat!

    just this week we have moved the 'kids' to a larger pen. will take pics later. they're 4 weeks old today!

    Frank I'm thinking Pete has a duckling in mind for Thanksgiving.Bunkie they wouldn't last no longer than a snowball in he** around here.I think Pete may get over watching them very soon.I do love that cat LOL.

    i dunno daisy. last night, when i put them to bed in their cabin and was hosing off their water and food containers, pete, once again, tried climbing on the roof of their pen.

    unfortunately, the hose sort of slipped from my hand and he got a good washing! :D i don't think he's figured out it's me doing the watering!

    for some dumb reason....maybe he is guarding the duckies...he likes to sleep in the sun on the chickenwire roof of their pen. i'm trying to discourage him of it...

    yes kk, they're growing in leaps and bounds aand pin feathers! their little wings are starting to get real feathers on them...and one duck, i think a female is quacking!!! :D

    speaking of pete...while i was mulching with straw in the wheelbarrow this morning early, before the heat, pete decided to take a ride. he rode all the way to the straw pile in the wheelbarrow! he has such attitude! :D

    whelp, the duckies are 7 and a half weeks old now, gaining feathers as well as an 'attitude'. they went from eating out of my hands to running away from me...d**n teenagers! i'm going to buy a duck call and take control of my flock...very very soon! :O)
    duck pens....ed built a small one with a cabin in it for nighttime, and a larger one for outdoor perusing...that one will be made much bigger, and have a real pond soon...

    whelp, the 'teenagers' are almost ten weeks old now, come Monday. hubby built them a nice big pen and a nice full pond. they finally found the pond the beginning of this week, and have been in it ever since! hubby's afraid they're gonna get water-logged! :D

    Those duckies are coming right along, aren't they?

    That's a nice pen they have now with their own swimming pond.
    BTW--what are the long term plans for the duckies? Will you just keep them as pets?
