Dwarf?? Hollyhocks in 2004

    Deanna,
    The base of the birdbath are three different size terra cotta pots turned upside down and stacked with the larger on bottom. We used a clear caulking around the edges of the pots so they wouldn't slip and end of lopsided since some of the pots are not necessarily perfectly round.

    Also, this is a picture of that ladder with the Dragon Lady Cross Vine a couple of years later.

    Biita, I agree with Deanna ..what do you have to loose? I have lots of seeds from my hollyhocks if you want some, just say the word.
    You know if you plant them up against a south-facing wall, they might just do it for you.
    Most of my hollyhocks stay a number of years, bit even if they died there, so what... plant them again. You can stagger your seeding so that you will have plantlets to set out each year. You could also mulch them for protection...or keep them indoors until their second year if you are skittish about placing them outside before their second year.
    p.s. That is a great piccy of that supurb Dragon Lady.
