I was talking to the people at the greenhouse yesterday ... they said that no one is buying and that in another week the prices would be coming way down. Guess who's waiting a week to buy more plants? :D

Went to store 2 plants for a $1. Got $4 worth. Some TLC and God will water them again tonight---Pray not a whole bunch.
And I have BUNCH of yellow yarrow. Shared with lady. Her first garden.

I do like the mark down rack at Lowe's. I check it out every time I am there.
I have had sticker shock too at the prices of annuals this year.

I had been craving a fuschia, but couldn't find any cheap little ones. Then I looked more carefully at a hanging basket of fuschia. It was actually 4 small plants planted together. So I splurged & bought it, then separated out the 4 into 4 outside planters. I'm pleased with the result. I'll see if I have a pic of them...

long pot. This fuschia has been in the shade, not blooming as much as a result. ( photo / image / picture from Cayuga Morning's Garden )

That was a good deal getting four of them. Funny how we can justify just about anything in order to get the plants we want. :-D

My fav greenhouse in small town raised prices this year. He said he had to because it was costing him so much more.I bought less than usual & will go to his half price sale.I raise lots of my own but can't grow everything & besides I consider it part of spring to visit garden centers.Kmart had nice plants & $1.49 for a 6pack,& the larger 6 packs, too. The one greenhouse in the city seemed about the same as last year.I hate to go to May's because they have some nice stuff but highest prices & of course I invariably find something I must have.I'm noticing some places are still getting new stuff in.
