Cool! This is something that has been on my "to do" list for a while now, although, I was actually planning on making a Gnome Home (does that sound like sucking up??). I think it's great that so many of us are excited by the prospect of making homes for the wandering wee folk who visit our gardens. Does anyone think it would be fun (and motiviating) to plan a thread in the spring where we can all show our completed projects at the same time? Jan, you crack me up!!
I think it would be a great idea ZuZu. It might motivate me to actually get one finished. My family says I have no sense of humor, I thought Jan was serious. LOL
See Sharon has a sense of humor she married me didn't she thats why I love her, anyway, people used to say my warped sense of humor was enough for both of us.LOL
We just recently got inspired by these. Hubby is working on his and mine is still in the planning stage. I want a little castle-like structure with rocks and mortar. I can't use too many materials like acorns and such or the critters will just tear it up. I love that everyone's getting inspired. Go Stewbies! 8)
I shall have a fairy house soon!! I am inspired. Since my cousin does not invite me to his on Fire Island, I shall make my own. (For those of you who are unfamiliar, Fire Island is just a short ferry ride from Manhattan and is a hang out for the gay community. More men than women tho.)
I absolutely loved going to your friends site. What a site it is gave me so much info I want a fairy land now so will gather my thoughts when I'm as work today training my friend Janice to work back up at the guard shack. She has also put some things in that I have been trying to finish my garden toteum and have been hung up on for a while, thanks for the site Cajunbelle.I have enjoyed it so much.
Wow Cajunbelle your friend has a wonderful website. Thanks for the link. I will get lots of ideas there.
Oh my, those are very grand, it worries me that Frank will see them and become even more excited . . .I'm still waiting for the estimates to come in from the sub-contractors.
I am bumping this post up so we don't forget about making our fairy houses. ZuZu had an excellent idea about starting a new thread in the spring to show our houses, so first one finished starts the thread. I also didn't want Frank to forget about his gnome home promised by ZuZu. Just a reminder. I don't know if gnomes are forgetful or not.
Gnomes are forgetful but I rather have my eye on Zuzu's glasshouse now instead Plans for the gnome home have been put on hold. Are some fairy houses definitely going ahead this year? That would be just great!
Richard and I are going to do a few, I have a spot in front under a small tree that I want to put a fairy garden in. Hopefully the cats won't catch any of the wee things. Maybe I will have to get a gnome to protect them from cats. Is there such a fellow?
I have my Fairy Wonderland started under my Confederate Rose dead looking bush. Its tall now about 6 ft.Has branches springing out around it.I'm going to cheat on it some but wont tell you how yet.I've been at it for sometime now.
Aw, c'mon Glenda, now I'm all curious, if you figured out a short cut, I wanna know, that's just teasing. The gnome home is still in the works, wink: I wouldn't want Frank to think I'd forgotten him) If Frank doesn't want to move in, I'll just put up a "TO LET" sign.
Sammie,Caleb and I are still working on our fairy houses,we just kinda got side tracked with the flu!!! I'll definately post pics of them in the spring!! I got my new camera for Christmas!!
