I'm back home from the mountains. What a wonderful time I had with my family. I've been floating on air since and it's surprisingly easier to return to work today. I took lots of pictures to show you -- will try to get a few posted soon. It is a beautiful place and so quiet and dark. I hated to leave. Remember I said I wanted to snag a plant from my Aunt's garden, which of course, was my grandmother's garden at one time? Well, I dug a peony off the hill -- though I have to say, I'm a little worried about it. It looks awful. It was really hard to get a good bit of root ball on it. I potted it up so I can baby it and have my fingers crossed. I brought back a little piece of sedum too. My aunt said my grandmother used to call it 'house leak' because it grew in wet places. I am missing all of my aunts and uncles and cousins now.... the peony must as well! My aunt thought it was very cool that the garden would be posted on Garden Stew.
Good to have you back with us. Glad to hear you had a good time with your family. Can't wait for those picts.
Welcome back Miss B! Mice to see that you could tear yourself away from the mountains. Aside from the fact that I'm happy to see you bac, I am also very much hoping to see some fotos. I hope that you have some luck with transplanting the sedum and peony. Those peonys are notoriously difficult to transplant--but not impossible. I transplanted some for a fellow gardener on the allotment and they all made it...and bloomed the following year as well! Fingers crossed for you. So, after you have rested-up--please do post some piccies. We will be delighted and your auntie will become famous all in one fell swoop.
I'm sorry I wasn't here to give you a send off.I'm glad you had a great time.I always enjoy our family reunion. I'm glad you had a wonderful time.I do hope your peony pulls through.
Glad you made it home safe and sound and had a great time. Can't wait for pictures. Good luck with the peony.
