Another of my film noir favourites is on Film 4 (again) this afternoon. They made several films together and I like them all. I've got this on one of my Humax recorders. Before that I had it on VHS.
I haven't got one favourite I've got 2 Terminator 1 and 2 Alien 1 and 2 Don't watch a lot of films these days because we have the boys and mostly hubby falls asleep so i don't bother. He has his home cinema so can't watch them myself and wouldn't want to.
My absolute favorite movie of all time is The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly. I say this, because somehow I often see examples of it being replayed in front of me in real life, even today, (believe it or not) - Probably because this movie truthfully displays the best, as well as the absolute worst of human nature... I saw it when I was 7 years old, (in the mid 1980s), with an elder cousin who I always looked up to, at his house. When the movie was over, all of us kept laughing over it, specially the ending, for many days. So since then I've always had this movie in my home. First on VHS tape, then VCD, and now DVD. No movie collection of anyone can be considered complete - If they don't have this movie. I have a lot more movies which are also favorites. But this one is the absolute best of the best!
I watched Four Weddings and a Funeral (again) on C4 last night. I've always thought Fifi, (Kristin Scott Thomas) would have been the ideal partner for Charlie (Hugh Grant), I found her far more attractive than Carrie (Andie McDowell) and believed her to be a far better actress. The best scene in the film. Could bring a tear to your eye. https://www.youtube.com/watch?...
Pulp fiction, when it came out we went to the cinema to see it. THX was being used at the cinema that hubby was interested in for home cinema. It's just come out on 4k DVDs with a good rating for the transfer.
Wow, interesting responses. I think I would have to say which movie for which part of my life. Early years - Laurence of Arabia. Later, Around the World in Eighty Days. Also African Queen. Sometime in there, Network. Then maybe 2001 A Space Odyssey, Then like many here, Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Martian with Matt Damon. Yes Potato! Now, I don't know. Thinking about watching the Avatar sequel.
Not a favorite move.. But… A fav documentary. About HOA’s in a neighborhood that X-mas lights seemed to over take a HOA neighbored with unexpected results… Lights over the top like the Chevy Chase x-mas movie…”Twas a Real Stunner”. see trailor.. ‘Twas the Fight Before Crristmas’
Of All time? Well since my inner child is still around that would have to include some older films. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Herbie the love bug Bed knobs and broomsticks Banshee (Darby O'Gill and the Little People)
I saw these in my PJs, with my family, on top of thick blankets in the back of a station wagon at a drive in . All very good. That's a good memory. Well done.
My Fave is Last of the Mohicans - One scene in particular when Daniel Day Lewis says " I will find you!" . I'm a sap.
Melody like those movies takes me way back…the good ole days with real actors… Ever watched the old Airplane movies in a drive in… when I saw the first Airplane movie it’s was raining in a scene the airplane windshield wipers going back and forth on the giant screen…at the same time it was raining outside with the car windshield wipers going back and forth . Both the screen and car window wipers going at the same time…couldn’t see a thing..was a couple giggles.
