Something that I don't get a chance to do because there are too many things tugging at my time. The winter while it appears to have more time actually isn't an ideal. I have a hammock a friend gave me years ago and two hooks mounted in a couple of trees. As the summer breezes meander through the trees they have a soothing sound. I have a library of about 250 books, I never really counted them. Needless to say on a whim, I can find something interesting to read. As with someone else's post, as they started out to do a task, about a million things get in the way and the original task never gets done. So, about once a year I get to swing in the hammock and read a book and the world drifts away on a summer breeze.

    My favorite thing,

    Jerry

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee, smell of freshly baked breads, a walk by the beach, a delicious meal, smell of fresh mowed lawn and so on and so on and so on ..... There are so many of them ... Yes life is great!!!

Lengthening days when trips to work become hazardous to my health because of the beauty of the start of the day. Try staying on the road with the sky just getting more and more spectacular. Sometimes you just have to stop for a moment and inhale.

Have you noticed that all of our "favorite things" are simple, mostly natural, and can be enjoyed by almost anyone?
No one has posted that a sale at a dress store, getting a new car, or any of the materialistic things are our favorites.
Stewies seem to have a connection with what is really important, and are also a contented lot!

Now you mention it Jane we do like the simple things don't we. I suppose that the common thread is that gardening really does slow us down so we have time "to stop and smell the roses" as the saying goes. :D

I'm going shopping today just to get out of the house. I hope the garden stores are open as I need some contentment.
