Lavendar Ladies in their finest. I have a lot of these beautiful Iris's. And yes they do smell like a popsicle. We had quite some heavy rain and they were flopped over. So I cut them, brought them in and the house smells wonderful. Once they are done blooming I will be cutting the leaves back, and transplanting them. You can transplant them after they are done blooming. It just takes a little more care to be sure they are watered more often. I would consider giving them to you for just the shipping cost. They would be sent bare root in a baggie with damp sawdust. I have no idea of the name as I had gotten them from my mom. But I do know that they came from Schreiner's Iris Co. Let me know if you would be interested. A garden party of purple. ( photo / image / picture from Tooty2shoes's Garden ) Purple Lady ( photo / image / picture from Tooty2shoes's Garden )
Oooooh those are gorgeous, thanks bunches but would you keep them in your yard until Sept for me? It is way too hot and dry to transplant them now, we have black clay and I can not even break the surface without a pick.
I'm with Toni on this one. Would love to add a few to the Irises I already have.... but it's far too hot and dry to try to do any kind of planting. I wish I could hop right over to your place and give them a sniff! A popsicle is sounding pretty good right about now!
