Welcome to the stew from a Stewbie in Wisconsin. Wow your veggies all look so healthy. I wish I could grow veggies on my balcony this time of year. :( All I would have is frozen tundra or tomato ice-sickle pops.
This is a great community to be apart of. :stew1:

The time has come to switch some of the plants to flowering nutes. The bell peppers and early girl tomato have been growing well. I've been pinching all their flowers so far. Wanted to keep them in veg as much as possible. Here are the new nutes I will be be using:

My mixing bucket with an airstone. The main purpose here is to evaporate the chlorine but it does a fine job of keeping the mixture aerated and the nutrients evenly dispersed. Stinks up my kitchen with all the kelp and whatnot.

One of the Bell Peppers looking a little sad. I think I overfed this past week:

The rest of these guys will continue on their regiment of high nitrogen nutes.

The brandy wine has almost doubled in size:

Chard and Zuccini off to the right:

Romaine has already been picked twice (outer leaves). Had an outbreak of aphids. Those scum. Neem oil did absolutely nothing so I had to use non-organic stuff unfortunately but it worked and the nightmare is over:

Mixed Greens and Arugula sprouts seem to be growing slower than i'd like. I think they need more sun:

Has anyone else used these nutes before?

    UPDATE!

The Brandy Wine tomato has quadrupled in size. Very excited to taste this heirloom.

Well, I don't know how I missed this post from Feb, but I did and I think your plants looks wonderful. You have done a great job with them. I have never heard of the term nute before. what is it for? just the type of box or a style of growing?

Thank you! It's just slang for "Nutrients". I heard someone use it in my local Hydroponic store and the term has stuck ever since.

You are too kind :) Everything has grown except the bell peppers for some reason. The plants have stayed the exact same size. They do have little bell peppers growing and flowers all over but the plant size has remained the same. Is this normal? I've never grown them before so Im clueless in that regard.

Here's how everything else is doing:

Chard has already been harvested 2 times. So delicious:[IMG]

Eggplant has started to bud. You can also see what's left of the Romaine off to the right:

Strawberries. I wish I had more space to plant more! 1 treat a week is too much of a tease:

This herb garden is the most recent addition. Apple Mint, Regular Basil, Boxwood Basil, Sage and German Thyme:

    How does it look?

I'm very impressed. Everything looks so healthy. Do you mix all those nutes together?

    Thanks guys.

Yes the nutes are mixxed together the night before to give the airstones enough time to evaporate the chlorine out of the water. On really hot days i'll sometimes use regular water out of the sink but I try to give them only non-chlorinated water if possible.

I live in North Los Angeles.

Ahhh, nutes. Of course! Thanks. I didn't think of that. Still, everything looks superb for containers. I hope I can get my outside plants to look that good. You are doing a great job. Thanks for sharing.
