Hiyah 'Beans! The Aquilegias are the second and third fotos from the top. The spent flower is indeed a Pulsatilla. I am really happy that you like the garden and flowers. I just let those Aquilegias grow wherever they come up. It has an overall nice effect, I feel.
They remind me of little velvet ribbon flowers! So, sorry for being dense if I am... but then what are the blooms that are on the right side of the first photo that are higher up. I can't tell if they are hanging planters or like little trees....
Sjoerd your blooms are wonderful.I like them all.I think the 1 st.photo is wonderful with all the for-get-me-nots but i do understand how important it would be to clear for more planting.
Hello DaisyB, Of course I do not think that you are dense....what are you like! hahaha. The best way to find out what you want to know is ask...right? Those blooms belong to a Clematis montana. Here is a foto taken of the same plant but from a different angle. It is sparsely in bloom because in this foto it was just beginning. I let the plant trail out left and right. On the left side I built a 'bridge' for it to cross and get onto the roof of my little shed. I think that it looks nice on the roof. Sorta cozy, if you know what I mean?
Hey Sjoerd, I do love that effect with the clematis -- it gives the sense of height and space. Very, very pretty and charming on the top of the shed. I am laughing at your reply re: questions -- I am known for asking a lot of questions. I will keep asking too!
Glad you like the Clematis. Well, it doesn't cover much of the shed's roof yet...but it increases each year. Heh heh heh... so you're known to ask lots of questions, eh? Well, they say that only an inquisitive mind can truly taste food for thought.
That's an amazing garden, you shoudl be very proud of your efforts. I could quiet happily spends hours and hours, just pottering around and enjoying my surroundings
