For US visitors, is this the most drawn out winter in years?

Not a harder winter here, just more continual than normal. The average highs now should be at 45 deg. F. but we haven't seen 45 since early Nov. Colder than normal and more snow storms than normal, but less snow fall with each one. Most of ours have been 2 or 3 inches each time, but 2 or 3 times a week. But the sun is getting stronger, as it is rally warm. Today the sun was out and even though the temp was only about 19 deg. the sun was warm enough to melt a little of the snow. But 3 to 6 inches more snow tonight and Sun.

Here in the Pacific Northwest spring is a full month early. Too busy to post because of busy work load and interests (one evening a week with laughter yoga , several with essential oil learning). Will try to get off my chair and take some photos tomorrow. Flowering quince, magnolias and early camellias and rhodies are blooming if they haven't finished. Just the opposite in far western states.

Last year we had record breaking snows. This year we are having almost record breaking temperatures. Each year we get something different. I begin to tire of Winter this time of year. Once in a while Winter never wants to end. I hope it doesn't go that way this year.

I hope to be planting peas in two weeks. Uhhhmmmmm......if the glacier recedes enough. This is beyond enduring. I'm bone weary of this.

Tonight on the local news, they said that last winter we had a total of 51 inches of snow. They said that this winter we have had a total of 21 inches so far. But it seems that this winter has been a lot worse. I think it's because we have been getting small snows a couple of times a week, instead of bigger snows every couple of weeks.

It was a bit colder in the northeast this year. Snow maybe a bit above average. But long winter = extra happiness when spring finally arrives

Toni, we have been planning it since before Thanksgiving. Our youngest son lives in Wisconsin and at our age we need to be closer to one of them. We will be leaving Texas before the end of March!

We live in west Texas which has very warm winters. Most of us do not own coats because we don't need them...just light jackets. This winter has been a record breaker for us. The whole month of Feb. was one ice storm after another; snow; then the snow would become solid ice.

Schools were closed for several days which means the kids will go to school most of June. There is talk of no Spring Break so that the missed school days can be made up.

The northen states have snow piled up to the tops of roofs. In one state the snow is three stories high. Cars are completely covered. Buses, trains, air travel has come to a stand still.

Yes, the USA southern and northern states have had a terrible 2015. And it is not over for the northern states.

The western states have had a mild winter.

This winter season has been most unusual and will be one for the record books. The snow, however, can not last forever.
The boston weatherpeople are just itching to set a record. They just might do it next storm.

We have a hit of winter working on us now and through most of tomorrow. Temp is 34 but feels like 24 with a strong north wind. It hasn't drizzled in a while but we are still waiting on freezing rain and/or sleet in a few hours.

I live in western South Dakota and it has been warmer and on the drier side here. I grew up in NE Ohio and as a kid I would have been happy to have a winter like the one that they are having this year, at least until I had to make up the lost school days. Strange to hear about how since Lake Erie is frozen, the sun shines, even in the winter! When I was a kid if the sun shone there you went out and took a photo because it was so rare.
