I can actually remember buying gas for 11 cents a gallon. Two stations in the little town where I lived would start a gas war. Everyone knew that one station or the other would bottom out at 11 cents. When it hit that price, we'd all go fill our tanks.
The lowest price I ever paid for gasoline was 16 cents a gallon in Oklahoma Feb, 1965. The station across the street was 15 cents but they were closed. Jerry

Here in this country the price of gas went up in October 1st. Now the %$#@ govt.is just playing dumb about the downward trend of fuel prices. They even threatened to impose additional taxes. The pump price is controlled by the %$#@ govt. and our choice is very limited. We can use ron 92 but the lowest is ron 95.

Here in Madisonville, the price is $2.89 but we went to Centerville for lunch and it was $2.46 so we filled up. It's gone up a lot since I started driving about 55 years ago. It was 10 or 15 cents a gallon then. But, then everything has gone up since then. dooley
The price has gone down six cents in a week. hopefully it will continue to fall. 11/21/2014 Gas Prices ( photo / image / picture from eclecticgarden's Garden )
I filled up today and paid 2.84. It was wonderful. But why do the prices vary so much. WHY? Crazy. One side of town has one price and the other will have a higher or lower one. Go figure.
I started this topic thread on October 31st, Halloween day, and the price of gas was $2.94 a gallon. Now, here it is the day before Thanksgiving and the price continues to drop. As of this morning it was $2.79. How much farther down will it go? Gad Prices 11/25/2014 ( photo / image / picture from eclecticgarden's Garden )
I heard a news report that said stations were planning to jack up the gas prices just before the holiday weekend. Thankfully, so far that has been a false report.
We went away for the weekend and ended up in Tennessee where we filled up for $2.39 at one station. That was the cheapest we hot it for while we were away.
