The price has gone down another ten cents in the last nine days. According to the news it has actually gone below two dollars a gallon in some parts of the country. I wouldn't mind seeing that, but I can't help being suspicious over the falling prices. Is OPEC trying to put other countries out of the oil business by flooding the market with lower prices? Down ten more cents, at this gas station at least. I've found that some surrounding stations are considerably cheaper. For example, less than fifteen miles from this station I found one that was selling gas for $2.28 a gallon. However, I'm going to stick with posting the price from this one just for consistency. I will, however, buy it at the station with the lowest price. Note: The price for E85 in the picture is $9.99. I'm fairly certain it should be $1.99. I always burn non ethanol which is a bit more expensive, but today I filled up for 25.00.I drive a Ford Escape. When the guy in the station told me the total I had to go HUH? Cheapest gas around here in a very long while. My boss is hoping the cost stays down for the spring season when we start running all the fleet daily.
It's been under $2.00 a gallon here for weeks. We have a Kroger rewards card where grocery purchases add up to anywhere from 10 cents to $1.00 off each gallon of gas you buy at a Kroger gas station. Over the holiday season we accumulated enough points on the card to get $1.00 off per gallon. Randy's truck is Flex-fuel so he uses E85 in it to safe money even at the regular prices. Just before the new year he had to fill up and this is what we saw on the pump..... Cheapest in decades ( photo / image / picture from toni's Garden )
2/17/15 - I don't have a picture this time, but gas has climbed back up to $2.35 a gallon. The farthest that it fell at the station I have been tracking is $2.05... but the day before it started climbing back up I managed to get gas at a station selling it for $1.95.
The cheapest I got gas recently was around $1.75 but it's back on the climb now with prices around $2.05.
