Sjoerd: I can set it up for manual, and also for the shutter speed, thats what i have been experimenting with. Altho i did forget about the manual part of it. Maybe if i try that it will work. I have a Canon Powershot SD790 IS. When i say blur,,,lol,,,i mean blur, not the normal when the lights are shot. But thats part of the fun is figuring it all out. It also has a 3600 speed for speed skating or anything really fast, i just haven't found anyone willing to run past me real fast to check it out,,,lol.
I see what you mean. Well the blur could well be because you are holding the camera in your hands. A tripod is a must when fotografing northern lights. Yes it is fun experimenting with a new camera. When you do find that good setting for yourself, you may notice that all looks well excrept the stars which look like little curbved lines )if the shutter is left open too long' that will be because the earth turns. I rarely left my shutter open that long...I just made the aperture setting wider. Another thing is....can you use a remote thing to depress the button to take the picture= If not then you will have to make your settings...then use the `self-timer` (as if you were taking a foto of yourself and KB). Ha ha ha...no one volunteering to run past you really fast= Why not dress KB up in hisd viking garb and arm him with an axe and have him to sprint past you at speed.
Really gorgeous! I'd love to see some pics of Sweden, too! You really do have a good eye for creating your photos, thanks for sharing them.
