Work in progress,..but nearly finished to my satisfaction,..i took the walls apart and started over again as the placing of the rocks didn't look quite right,..now with some Moss added and the Harts Tongue Fern,..plus the Campanula it has improved,..i will however be adding more Campanula and perhaps some Oxalis,Shamrocks Pink,..here is how it looks now from various angles,..the plants in containers behind the walls will bloom to enhance the appearance. Hi Cheryl,..now that comment certainly boosts my morale,..i am never quite satisfied when doing something like that as when i look at the pictures i can see holes in my project,..luckily i can fill them in,..it will improve in time.
Philip, if you did that at the Chelsea Garden Show, you'd get all kinds of prizes. Your stone walls, the plantings, the arrangement, stunning just stunning!
Hi Jane,..thank you for the nice comments,..it makes that area of the garden more attractive but i will have to improve the immediate area behind those walls,..mostly in the very far corner,..isn't it always that way,..you change something and then its like a domino effect you keep going further.
It looks wonderful Philip! Love it! There is a series of novels by Peter Robinson set in Yorkshire. One of the characters is the semi retired police chief and he happily spends his time constructing stone walls, and then taking them apart, and putting them back. Reminded me of him.
Hi Kay,..a great writer is Peter Robinson,..i read quite a few of his books back in the 80's,..soooo my rebuilding the walls put you in mind of one of the characters,..thankfully it was the semi retired police chief and not one of the bad guys,..
Oh, mud would have been much better. I was in the chicken yard going to do chores. :-x Philip, That looks fabulous! you did a great job.
Thanks Carolyn,..oh hell i remember what the chicken yard looked like when i had chickens,.. ,..it sticks like axle grease,.. .
Carolyn, been there, done that. Fortunately I was wearing an old shirt and jeans when I "met the dirt".
Love it! Love it! Love it! Looks like it has always been there. Do you hire out? I'd love some in my yard
Hi Jewell,..lol you went stone mad,..as long as i have the garden it was only in the past few weeks that the idea came to me,..being a smallish garden there isn't much in the way of change i can do but i actually have more room to place plants behind those walls now,..feeling very satisfied,..and pleased you liked the stone walls.
