Oh, thank goodness, I have been hoping to hear good news for Glenda. I hope she really can start feeling good again soon. Thanks for the update, Dooley.
I just want to apologize for not updating y'all about mama. She spilled a drink on my computer the night before her surgery and I could only get on the internet on my cell phone,so I could only sign onto facebook to update everyone on there. If any of y'all are on facebook and aren't already my friend on there, my name is Heather Logan-Reese, so add me She did very well during surgery, didn't need a blood transfusion or have to go to ICU. She was only on the ventilator for an hour afterwards. The tumor was malignant but the lymph nodes around it were negative so the surgeon feels confident it hasn't spread anywhere. She is still confused quite a bit and was sent home today on oxygen. Her doctor feels that this is caused from her not having enough oxygen going to her brain and that causes her to hold on to too much carbon dioxide in her brain. So with the addition of oxygen and the fact that she will be put on a bipap machine to help her sleep at night and make her breath when she stops breathing in her sleep. That was caused from the stroke.Thank you for thinking of our family and keep sending get well cards, she watches for the mailman everyday!
Thank you Heather for the update. Glenda will remain in our prayers as she recovers from surgery. Jerry
We just got back home from the hospital. Mama was re-admitted into the hospital. She started throwing up and was acting even more confused and I was afraid she was either having another stroke or had a infection. They gave her a medicine called Reglan to kickstart her intestines and make them start working again. But they think she may have the signs of early dementia...they aren't sure. So Joe,myself and Elijah just got home and it's almost 4am here in Montana so we are headed for bed. I will update everyone tomorrow.
Sorry to hear this news, Heather. Still...I am an optimistic person and will keep thinking of your mom and sending her good wishes. We will see how it goes this first couple of ensuing days. It is not uncommoin for older people to develop various degrees of dementia post-op. Let us hope that thia is what it is and not another etiology. I am more concentrated upon her organ functions. I am sure that the docs will endure that they remain functioning at an optimal level as possible. Hope you guys can get some rest...you must be thoroughly exhausted. I shall be checking in regularly to see how things are going. Hewr's wishing you and yours lots of strength.
Thanks for letting us know the latest news about Glenda Heather. I hope that things settle down for her and that the confusion she's suffering from at the moment is due to post operation issues and not anything more serious. She is always in my thoughts -as are you and your family. You have all been through so much that I hope you can find time just to relax now and then. Take care.
