A warm welcome to the Stew from a rather cold member in Norway. :stew2: Sounds like you're in for a busy season. :D Jump in and make yourself at home. I'm looking forward to stewing with you.

I'm sure both of you are much colder than we are today! The wind is wicked and it's mixed with heavy rain. We just had a flood warning for my county flash across the TV screen. Still, it could have been so much worse if this had been snow....

    Greetings

    Welcome to the stew
I am new here to and want to help others feel as good as I did coming into this nice community.
Nice job, you can pick out the best starts and don't need a green house at home.
    Best luck
    Farmer Dave

Hi Farmer_Dave! Nice to meet someone from CA. Yes, my job has those perks. It'll be a few months before the new plants come in so I'm taking advantage of the winter rest.

Greetings from East Tennessee. Welcome to the stew.
I worked at a garden center part-time for a few years when we first moved to TN. Loved working there, never made any money spent it all plus some right there. The benefits of a discount and free distressed plants was wonderful. It was a family owned business and they grew most of their own annuals, perennials and pointsettias. Had to quit when I started having back problems. Glad you like your job so many people don't and they have no choice in this current economy. I am happy being retired. :D

Hi Gail, this job is ideal for me. I hadn't worked (for pay) in more than a decade. It's only two miles from my house, and I don't need to depend on anyone else's shift interfering with mine. Getting paid to do what I do around the house is too good to be true! This is a True Value hardware store and family-run, as well. With the economy what it is, I'll probably never be able to retire! Good thing I like what I do...

Back in the mid to late 70s, I lived in the Nashville area. Summers were killer!
