Nope, I passed it out to the ones who were supposed to come and the children ate most of the rest of it throughout the day. So, it is pretty much all eaten up. I'll host Christmas and have everyone then...maybe if they can make it.

That's good. Glad you made good use of all that food. Even though you couldn't enjoy it. :'(

turkey broth canned in 5 quarts

A very odd thing happened after I took the jars out of the pressure canner. I have never had this happen before. All the broth splatted out the lid in a big way. They all pinged and then popped up again. Then pinged again and popped up again. Over and over again. In the end all the jars sealed but is was very very different. Then I let them cool. Took the bands off, washed the jars and bands and now they have to be labeled and shelved.

And that's the end of that holiday till next year. It was very quiet but pleasant around here.

Barb you go girl. I I'm just not that industrious. I guess it is more like lazy. After I recover from all the festivities I will be making a batch of turkey veggie soup as I did freeze the carcass.
Carolyn once again I am so sorry for you and your honey getting possible food poisoning. Did you call the place where you ate and report it? I would since you both where sick.
A similar thing happened to me this past Sunday. We went out to eat after church to Apple Bees. I had a small steak,w/fried onions, mashed potatoes and a veggie. By 6pm I no longer had any lunch in me. But I sure felt better. Although my tummy has been a little touchy since Sunday. I love having coffee in the morning. But just the thought makes my tummy ache. So I have been drinking tea. That sure was a really crummy way to celebrate Thanksgiving. Thank God you and your honey are on the mend. ;)

My husband did call the restaurant and the health dept. The health dept thought it was unlikely that we got sick from the restaurant that quick, but I don't. I don't think there was anything we had in common the whole day on Wed. except the meal that we shared at the restaurant and I think we had left over potato soup on Tuesday eve., but our daughter didn't get sick and she ate the soup, too.....so who knows? I am just glad to be back to normal.

Tooty, glad to hear you are getting back to normal. it's the pits spending unexpected throne worshiping especially on Sunday.

Carolyn I guess I am not surprised by the restaurants response. If they said that you could have gotten it there, then that makes them responsible. Who knows where that would lead. Ya, you are right on both accounts. :stew1:
