Great photos sjoerd...everything is so nice looking and those foxglove are great. What are you using to battle aphids? I am having a time with them devouring my lupines again this year. I am about to give up on them...I don't like harsh chemicals because of all my birds here...

    Hiyah Sherry,

I do three things to battle aphids--

One is that I plant lots of marigolds inbetween and around the problem plants and areas.

    Then there is the sprays--
I snip up leaves and stems of nettles and put them in a container which I then fill with water and let them sit for a couple of days then strain the liquid off and mix that with some tap water and spray it onto the aphids on the plants.

The next spray is the mixture of thick, green soap, spiritus and the rest water.
I stir this until the thick, green soap has disolved then I put it in the spray bottle and spray it onto the aphids.

    I spray them several times.
I also use the sprays in a preventative way on selected aphid favourites.

Those aphids really are annoying little beasts, but I don´t have much of a problem with them so far.
