I mentally go through the alphabet when trying to remember a name, sometimes it works, sometimes I just fall asleep. But then the name usually comes to me around 2 in the morning.......that is a bad time to wake Randy up to tell him.

I went through the Alphabet several times on Friday last,..trying to remember the name of an actress,..'Katherine Ross',..her name evaded me because most women with that first name that i know are 'Catherine'.

If in conversation with someone and i can not remember something,..i look at the ceiling,..then it comes to me,..a Lady friend suggested i stop this as when i look towards the ceiling the person i am in conversation with also looks up at the ceiling :whistling:

Philip, that is the "cat syndrome". A cat will stare at something, the ceiling, the window, whatever, and the human will find him/herself staring in the same direction, trying to find out what the cat is staring at. Cats really enjoy this little game. I think you may have lived with cats so long that you are picking up the "staring at the ceiling cat syndrome".:setc_070:

:setf_052:Lol here Jane,.."cat syndrome",..oh yes the cats have had me going crazy at times,..sitting on the floor in front of me,..staring over my head and i just had to look over my shoulder :setf_008:.

Living with the cats and a dog one copies them ,..there was a stray cat at the bottom of the garden scaring my cats,..instead of shouting at it i forgot myself and began barking like a dog,..thankfully nobody spotted me :whistling:
