You know that "ananas" means "pineapple" in Swedish? Looks delicious Sjoerd but it did sound like a lot of effort.
Maybe you couls grow that melon, Glenda--Holland is too cool and wet, but your conditions might be ideal.
sjoerd, i've never seen a melon with a skin like that! it is really beautiful. did you save the seeds? here's some info on muskmelons... http://plantanswers.tamu.edu/publicatio ... melon.html we have grown several yellow watermelons, and our favorite is 'Early Moonbeam'... http://www.groworganic.com/item_SNV2075 ... Mode=HiRes it works well in cooler climates!
Thanks loads Bunkie---you supplied a wealth of info. I shall have a good look tomorrow, as it's late here now. I've had a prob with the server, but it seems to be better now, but I'm gonna hit the sack. Thanks again. BTW...I'll look and see if I still have some seeds. I do not think that I do, but I will dig deep into ny seed bin.
let me know sjoerd if you have some seed. i have some seed i saved of the early moonbeam i can give you, if you like.
I can't find any seed here at home, Bunkie...I shall look in the lottie tomorrow--weather permitting.
Bunkie...I was not able to find any seeds after all, darn it! What a shame, it would have been fun for you to try them. I must have put the extra ones in the clubhouse with the other partial packs for folks to have. I honestly do not recall what I did with them. Again, my apologies.
that's ok sjoerd! if you ever run across another one like that, keep me in mind, please! i have saved seed all my life, but never have tried to save true seed. i have been really getting into it the last couple of years. lately, i seem to be saving every single seed i see. it's become a bit of an obsession i tell ya! i still have some Early Moonbeam seeds if you decide you want some.
