I rolled the dice and got this topic. My husband and I won a cuckoo clock in the "Chicken Dance" contest at our community Octoberfest. :D

I guess I could be concidered lucky. I have had two hole-in-ones playing golf. One was in a local golf association tournament and it was worth $1000. I also won a $1200 jackpot playing poker at the casino. I used to Drag Race and won $1000 for a 1st place finish in a big three day event race. $500 for a first place finish in a Bass fishing tournament. I beat Cancer in 1994.

I was delighted when they pulled my nimber out of the cage...but when I heard what the prize was, I just kept mum.
I had won 30 pounds of chlorine in sacks-- for swimming pools. I lived in an upper level flat and thus had no swimming pool. I had no way to get it home had I wanted to...and furthermore, I was away from my home with my work for months at a time.

So, I can say "yes", but I couldn't use the prize. :?
It all had sort of a Greek feel to it...like back in days of yore--you know when Croesus went to consult the Oracle of Delphi...wanting to know if he should attack Persia, and the Oracle said if you do, you will destroy a kingdom...and as it turned out the kingdom that was destroyed was his own. Typical.

Well, that was perhaps not an accurate example, but you see what I mean, right?

I've never had much luck, so stay away from the casinos and don't buy lotto tickets. Over the years I did have two good wins.

One was winning 2nd place for an ornamental garden section in a national organic gardening contest years ago.

I also have a signed Lladro by one of the orginal brothers that I won as a door prize that I got about the same time.

When I was in primary school, I won second place in an obstacle race as a boy's cub. When I was in lower secondary school, our group of junior scout won first place in a cook out. When I was in upper secondary I participated in a couple of singing contest in a group and won nothing, I guess we croak!! :D

Lottery is never for me because I don't even get any where close on fund raising raffles.

When I started playing golf, I used to win regulary in the club monthly medals, things like DVD players, table fan, rice cooker, ball sweeps, vouchers ........ and I guess my biggest win is the 1st runner up in the Plastic Association Annual Golf Tournament in 1999.http://kk-lifenmemories.blogspot.com/

Yes, the biggest prize I've ever won is my wonderful husband (I chased him until he caught me)! The only other thing I've ever won is a Daughters of the American Revolution prize for history while I was in high school. To me, some of those Daughters looked like they participated in the Revolution.

I just remembered the first time I ever won anything! My wife and I had only been married a couple of months and it was just before payday. I put a dollar on a baseball pool in one of the World Series games. My wife gave me a $20 bill that morning and told me to get it broke into smaller bills. I won $40 in the pool. When I got home that evening she asked me if I had got the $20 bill changed and I handed her $60. She told me I was really good with money!
