Well, she is back home with a bag full of pills to take. The hospital have taken blood and the samples are being analysed. She is back there on Friday. They removed a lot of fluid, and she is a little lopsided at the moment thanks to the swelling. She is feeling a lot better now she knows it isn't anything more than an infection, and a bath and a cuddle from her boys cheered her up no end. Again, thanks for your good wishes. I will keep you posted with news.
Sending thoughts and prayers your way that it is just an infection and the antibiotics clear it quickly.
Marvelous news Emma-- She should go on ahead and heal now that she is home and taking her antibiotics. Tomorrow she (or rather her docs) should know the bacterial agent that is to blame. You tell her to be sure and take every single pill, ok. It would be a mistake to stop taking her meds just because her breast seems to be healed. She needs to finish her regimen completely. Well, I reckon that everyone there breathes a sigh of relief now....you can know that we do too!
Hope your sis,you and the entire family feels better about all this. What a great Christmas present! She'll be back on her feet in no time.
I'm so glad, both for your sister and for your entire family! What a relief! Tell you sister some of us are "lopsided" also, but in my case it is not side to side, but front to back (I don't need padding to sit comfortably!).
I am sorry you have had such worries EJ.I am so sorry I am just now seeing this post but I was praying to whole time I was reading this.I was better reading this now as I only had a short time to worry .I got the results fast .I thank God it turned out to be somrthing ver manageable .If she takes her meds right.
EJ, Wishing the best to your sis, and your entire family. She is fortunate to have such a close, caring family.
Oh dear The antibiotics should work now and make her better. Do let your sister complete the whole course of antibiotics. Stopping halfway because one feels a bit better does not work effectively with antibiotics. Hugs for you and your sis.
I thought I would just give you a quick update. She went back to the hospital again at the end of last week, and unfortunately the infection is still present so she had to undergo another uncomfortable drain. However, whilst there they gave her a series of scans, of her breasts and under her arms and they couldn't find anything lurking, so they are as certain as they can be that this is only an infection. She has more antibiotics and is back again later this week as they want to make sure the infection is subsiding, or at least drain some more before Christmas. If, at her appointment after Christmas the infection is still there, then they will consider surgery. Phewie!! I can cope with the surgery for her no we know there is nothing else to worry about. Thanks to you all for your love and messages, I know how strong the power of the gardenstewers is when one of us or our team need some help. xxxxxxxx
EJ, So sorry your sis had to undergo all those uncomfortable things again. Hope she can fight off that infection. Sending good wishes to you all!
