Thank you Sjoerd, it looks like last night it got picked up by the person who was going to collect it, so hopefully it will be alright.
Will you call the folks who picked it up and check up on the little guy? I would want to know if he was treated properly.
I can ask the neighbour but usually don't get any feedback on them. Sometimes they do make it but not always.
@Sjoerd sorry but the hedgehog didn't make it. It's sad but he was too small to survive, the late ones are small to make it. I managed to see the neighbour coming back from work when i was taking berry out today.
Oh what a shame. It was a suspect scenario with a poor prognosis, but I hoped for the little fellow. Sometimes the process has gone on too far. Well meid, you can know that you had done what you could. Many folks these days couldn’t be bothered to do anything at all. I appreciate you letting me know the disposition. Thanks for your help, in the name of Mother Nature. Chuckle.
Sjoerd thanks for your concern about the little fellow, it's a shame and always think that it might have been the one that we had feeding in our garden, but there's a lot of other ones about and it was around the front at the side of the road.
Not sure but I think that the hedgehog came around last night, it's been mild these few days and the food was nearly gone but no droppings.
That would be great. I had given up on the little fellow. It does seem so early for them to be rummaging about. Will you keep putting food out for him? Imagine that you could see him, or get a snapshot even. I am excited for you again.
Thank you Sjoerd and yes I've been putting food out all winter because there's a small mouse that comes around. Not sure if i'll be able to get a pic of him, it's usually dark and my phone camera won't pic it up, usually the flash comes on and makes everything orange. They sometimes come out for a while if it's mild then go back.
The last week the hedgehog had come out of hibernation, at one time I think that there were 2, so very pleased.
Thank you Sjoerd it's nice to think that they made it through the winter. Sorry that it's still cold where you live.
Glad to hear the hedgehogs are coming out of hibernation. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing stories again. Boy, do I wish we had hedgehogs here. We have skunks instead. They do the same job of protecting the garden, but you'll never hear gardeners saying "Oh goodie! The skunks are back!" or gleefully sharing pictures and videos of their resident skunks.
Thank you @Beeker it will be very difficult to take pictures because they come out when it's dark, unless have a night time camera. Here's a video from YouTube but not my garden.
