I picked up the Ficus at Ikea! It was much smaller though. I've had it about 3 years and the caudex has gotten much bigger, as well as putting on a few more leaves. It is very slow growing though!
Here is my latest edition to my collection. Dorstenia Foetida If I'm lucky it will eventually become something like this... :-D
Hi Joe. Very nice Plants and Pictures. I am including a Pic of an Agave Plant that is blooming. they grow outside here and when they bloom the stalk grows at least a foot a day. After they bloom the plant dies. Agave ( photo / image / picture from happyzinnia's Garden ) Agave Blossom ( photo / image / picture from happyzinnia's Garden )
Wow amazing! Are they Agave Americana? Unfortunately being in England I don't think mine would ever bloom! It came from my Mum's mother plant which was unfortunately killed by frost. It reached about 6ft high before it was killed though! I've had mine at least 3 years but it can only go outside during the summer.
Joe, Your Dorstenia Foetida will make so many babies for you in the future. Very nice plant you have there. Barb in Pa.
I had one of these in my greenhouse and for the Winter I put it under the benches. One day I saw the metal bench lifting up about 8 inches. I looked under and saw this shaft the size of my wrist smashing up and going between the metal sheets. By the next day it was rising farther. We decided we had to cut it down for it was going to break the greenhouse glass when it got that high. We had to use a saw to cut it. It was harder than a tree. Never did bloom and the plant didn't die for that reason. That is one tough plant. Barb in Pa.
Had another one come this morning! This is it now I'm stopping for a while. Getting a bit obsessed! Sinningia leucotricha :-D
Thought I'd add a couple of recent photos of the Sinningia as it's doing really well! Really love this plant it's stunning!
Hello, Joe, I haven't had the opportunity to welcome you to the forums until now, sorry about that. I spent a year near Bristol ages ago. Your plants are really something else! They're obviously well taken care of. I'm glad they live with you, if they were here they would be dead. I'm not good at houseplants I'm afraid.
