@kate.. thank you for the comments about the pool....it's salvia. Oh by the way....look what came to visit this morning..my new helper!!! A Rat Snake in my experimental garden behind the pool.
I've been away for a minute now and doing some catching up. Just so happens the week after my last post on 8/24/19, i was involved in a pretty bad hit and run car accident...only by the grace of God and a really great car (chevy impala), that I am here today. Long story short, was waiting for car in front to turn left, speed limit was 55 mph, i saw the truck (like a 4x4) coming at me in my rear view mirror, not slowing down, braced myself and closed my eyes...i knew I was going to die from the impact, then a humongous crash that knocked me into the car in front of me... The driver of the truck fled the scene. No one got the plate number and i have the feeling we may never find the person, but then again, their conscience may bother them enough, that they will have to turn themselves in. Damage to me: no broken bones or concussion. No one could believe it after seeing the car. I do have a bit of whiplash, bruises on my legs, left knee and everywhere the seat belt touched, my back and now my left foot which will be xrayed next week, and the whole mental thing. The car took the brunt of the hit...my baby saved my life. Damage to vehicle: totaled...completely smashed in my trunk and folded the hood. I will be purchasing another Impala so that i can feel safe knowing what I do..truthfully that's the only reason why i am able to get back out there and drive after the accident a rental (2019 Impala) ...its the only car i will drive. Then the following weekend, Labor Day, we started preparing for Hurricane Dorian and ended up evacuating to Atlanta for a week. So after all of that, it's good to come back and see all of you on here and get some great laughs @Dirtmechanic. I did come back to most of those seedlings gone, as in dead. I put them in our shed and the baby hornworms found their way in the shedddd!!!!!! Have to rush and start over this weekend and start preparing my beds for next year. By the way, I did start that Garden Journal.
Oh my you've been through the wars lately haven't you?!! Thank goodness you weren't too seriously hurt in the car accident. I hope the bruises and whiplash are getting better and that you'll soon be out of pain. I presume you didn't suffer any damage from Hurricane Dorian - at least I hope you didn't. Then to top it all those nasty little hornworms had to gobble up your seedlings. Well they do say that bad things come in threes so let's hope your three are over and that life can return to normal for you now. So glad you here with us again!!
Shocking news Hummer. I am so very relieved that you were not seriously injured. Meanwhile with all the automobile and hurricane excitement, nature goes on...even in your absence. Good luck with your re-boot. Sheesh....so glad you are alright, meid.
My goodness Hummerbum what an awful week. I am so glad you were not injured more than you were! You sound in pretty good spirits considering all you have been through.
@Sjoerd @Cayuga Morning Thank you. I am in pretty good spirits...had to buy me a new car out of the mess
It is great to have a new car, but a pity that it went south on you. Having an auto there is so essential there, not really a luxury.
Thanks @Sjoerd and @kate. A car here is essential. I am doing much better. Have a bit of soft tissue damage on both feet, but just have to be careful where and how they land for quite awhile.
