    Welcome  from Canada.

I'm learning also, and that everyone has something to offer, even if it is a different climate. :)

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for the warm welcomes! I'm learning a lot about gardening via youtube, but I'm learning that I have to use discernment when it comes to planting for my specific zone, as @Daniel W mentioned. We have brutal summers down here that most plants get burnt out and die in, save for a select few.
If anyone else pops on here that's in my zone, I'm learning a lot from The Urban Harvest on youtube as she's based out of FL, and she has a growing calendar for plants for north, central, and south Florida as well as suggestions for plants that grow specific to this type of climate.
Hopefully I'll start having more wins than losses soon! Either way, I'm getting better every day. Thanks again everyone!

I think the best way to learn about gardening in your particular location is to have a look at the neighbours gardens. That way you can see what grows well. Also, hopefully you have keen garden lovers there, and if you make friends with the keenest you might get a few cuttings etc!

Seeing the weather forecast for South Florida, I do hope you are safe and the heavy rain and winds avoid you. Let us know how you are, please.
