No! Not snow yet, it isn't even November!! Here in Essex we haven't really had a frost yet either, although it is getting pretty nippy over night. Tuberous begonias and dahlias are still in peeps gardens and putting on a great show. However, I wrapped up one of my ladies standard fuschias on Monday as overnight frosts have been forecasted and her garden is exposed. I plan to start putting my garden to bed at the weekend, but it is a rather depressing thought.
Come people, Get those plants and pots prepared to meet their doom..or not. I started last week. Potted what I want to save, the others will have to take their chance.. Lewisia should be fine, Acers should be fine. As should the Violas but they die anyway in a week or so, then back up they come in spring. Diaisies should be ok. The pots will be covered in fleece bags. EJ, your down south! Oh, we always pity the south in winter. I am in Lancashire. I have to say though normally we envy your good weather in summer, always your ahead in sowing time.
Yesterday all our roads were full of ice. I'm really disliking the cold when it's this early and sympathize with kaseylib. Our summer was very warm, June was hot, and so was the first part of July, but the rest of July + August + September was so wet it was no fun at all.
