Just get a PVC joint that is threaded on one end (outside thread and same size as hose, most are 5/8) attach with PVC glue, screw on the spigot and attach a dollar store hose. If there is s size difference between what is on the filter and the PVC joint they have them tha are different sizes for adapting two size pipes.

Just an update on my rain water container. The spigot is attached. It is up on blocks. The suggested recycled plant pot has been placed in the top where the drain will flow down into. I cut hole in pot and glued screen in to filter out debre; then placed pot in the hole I cut in top of tank(thank you Toni for that idea). Just waiting on hubby to redirect the rain spout over it. I've not decided on a picture to paint on the front. I'm not an artist, lol. No picture of container yet to upload. I'll work on that.

Here is a picture of my almost completed rain water resevoir. All that I need now is the modified drain spout to the top of container and a rain storm. :-D

Here is a picture of the top of container with the plant pot modified to catch rain water and filter out leaves and such. See...it's already caught some leaves!

woohoo!!! I still get a kick out of catching and using "free" water.
Your set up looks wonderful and I bet it will work great. Nice job!

Edited to add: Don't forget to use something to help keep the mosquito population down.

Thank you Chery, I just told my hubby today I forgot to get the mosquito tablets. While the whole thing has screen over the openings, those little buggers can squeeze in anywhere.

    Thanks again for your commendation.
