With a lot of patience over seven years.
I move into my new bungalow tuesday. Its been a week of packing which is really hard work. I chose this area then I would'nt feel so isolated as I do in my old bungalow.

Garden in the back is much bigger.:smt026:smt041

    Congrats Kate.

I looked for 7 years in a particular area also. I looked in a area that was a specific amount of miles away from my hubby's work. So many times a week I drove up and down the roads finding houses that fit what I wanted, looked into them only to find they wouldn't suit me.....When I found the ONE, I jumped on it...Had possession in 25 days....

I am sure you are going to love your new home...

We found this bungalow as the price wasn't too bad but, oh dear, it needed some work and thanks to my other half he achieved a massive goal plus it's by canal roots and open fields which was a nice bonus when the dog was alive but the back garden was full of different fruits for medical purposes (distillery) apparently :whistling:…it had to be sorted early as the dog devoured the strawberries like eating sweets.

1 have lived in my current location (middle of SC) for 16 years. I purchased 8.25 acres and have done a ton of planting though mostly its been ornamental shrubs and trees. My wife loves annuals and perennials as do I but we haven't been as active for the last 3-4 years due to her health concerns. This year we started up a container garden for peppers and tomatoes and have had good success. Now it's my new obsession!

Catdaddy, I love your state. Most of my childhood was spent in S.C., wonderful state. 19 years there before moving to Michigan and I'm still homesick.

I was born in Pontiac, MI! Moved to Santee, SC in 1973 when I was 7. Now I live near Camden, SC (Lugoff) since 1980. My father was born and raised in Columbia.

Such a coincidence. I was born in Rosman, North Carolina, only because my daddy was working with his brother's sawmill and in transit from one timber cut to the next one. We quickly moved to South Carolina, where my daddy soon became Towerman on Sassafras Mountain. From there, we moved to the area of Table Rock State Park.
I came to Detroit in 1955 and now live in Flat Rock, Michigan.
We sort of swapped places. :)

If they're near, make it a point to visit. I had an older sister, an older brother and a younger brother who are gone from us. I still have a sister and two brothers. I go there maybe every other year or when I can. My children, gr.children and my companion live here, so leaving is not an option.
