I can't wait to see the new space, but I am sure you can hardly wait to use the new space. It is coming along, now. The little supervisor is doing a great job for you. Showing a little monkey face is very important for being supervisor, you know!
Can not wait until frost gets out of ground -five feet deep this year. To put our cement in for addition. 44 inches deep. You did great job. Enjoy your new house.
Carolyn yes I can hardly wait. Thanks Sgmgarden. Donna, the garden is suffering lots and I am comforting the plants as much as I can everyday after the workers stop for the day. To make matter worst there is still no sign of rain and the haze is back. I have not planted anything new since it all started. Thanks Koszta Kid, the waiting is the most difficult part. I guess the concrete for the frame work is dry enough and they had started work on building up the wall. Work restarted. ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) The started on the wall above the frame work first for the roof which I have no idea why. Above wall ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) We are making use of what we call light bricks here which is actually autoclaved aerated concrete and is manufactured by a French company here. We specify this because of the close proximity of the steep drop to our back neighbour. Having less weight will greatly reduce the ground stress. AAC blocks. ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) As of yesterday some part of the wall is up and we can now have a better idea of how it will turn out. Yesterday. ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Closer look ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) The little supervisor was not around for the past few days so I guess everything is progressing well. Donna this is how the garden is at the moment. Sad ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) First Pineapple here ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Strong ones! ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Some of the plants were destroyed by the construction debris and so I decided to harvest most of it to prevent total lost. Coming back to the construction, I guess they should be starting on the roof trusses today. There are lots of clanking, banging, grinding going on at the moment.
KK Ng, Think of all these mishaps as "growing pains". You may be suffering with your plants but just think of the growing you are doing and what you will have in the future. You'll be able to really grow things then. :-D
Thank you for the comfort Barb, yes look ahead. Cherylad I am keeping my fingers crossed and like Barb said "growing pains".
KK, please design the interior of the ketch in such a way - That it should make every other TV cooking show presenter drool with envy! Actually, come to think of it - Why don't you start your own cooking show on YouTube? I'll be the first one to subscribe to your channel!
Been busy with this and that and photos are still in the camera. Will upload when ... tomorrow very likely. Sorry.
OK I'm back and the remodeling is going on smoothly. Before Balcony ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Now Wardrobe/Store ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) My handy work - painting ... well it looks better in real life. Red Sun ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Seen with the naked eyes the sun was red, but through the lens of a compact camera this is the result. We always get red sun when the haze is really bad coupled with the very dry season. Roof truss installed ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Closer view. ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Another angle ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) These were the progress up to last Saturday and it rained that day after a very long dry spell.
The walls are all up. All walls up! ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) New kitchen exit. ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) New kitchen view ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) The In Between ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) More storage area :-D The old face ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) This is going!!! Out front ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Work started in the front portion of the house. Yesterday ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Debris cleared. Rebar for pillar ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Rebar for Footing ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) This is the rebar for the footing or base which will be placed in the square hole where the rebar for pillar is. They will be joint together.
Thank you so much Barb, I really needed the encouragement. Having to make sure the contractors do things right without offending them is indeed a very difficult and stressful job. It was like a mad house yesterday when all three group of people - the builders, plumbers and electrician - were in working at the same time. The most difficult part is discovering some of my veggies being trampled on ... I guess it will even be worst if I were to see who did it!!!
This is going to my last posting on this topic and I will have a new post when all is done. Most part of the kitchen is almost done and I am keeping my fingers crossed that it can be done within next month. Almost done ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Before ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) present ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) naked ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) The front part work is progressing well. Front framework in progress ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Outside view ( photo / image / picture from KK Ng's Garden ) Soon ...
