I am so curious about this area. Of course, you know me and storage space.

Where is this space? what kind of storage will be there? How wide and long is that space?

KK, I would have imagined you moving to a smaller house with a bigger yard, but it looks like your house is getting bigger by the day.... Hopefully soon it will be done though.

Barb the wall on the right belongs to my neighbor and the window right inside is the window for the downstairs bathroom. The wall on the left is my new kitchen wall. It is about 2ft plus wide and 14ft deep. If you notice the wall on the right have ventilation holes and in order to maintain good neighbourly relationship and keeping the downstairs bathroom bright, I decided not to build right to the neighbours wall. I also see a good storage space for my gardening things like lawn mower, wheel barrow, hoe and et cetera.

:) Carolyn this house is less than 2/3 the build up area of the previous house even after the extension. The yard of the previous house is slightly more than 4 times of this yard. I have not reduce the size of the yard at all, all extension work is done on areas where the ground already had concrete floors. I would love to have a larger yard if I can but .....

It looks bigger to me. Isn't it funny how deceptive a picture can actually be. Your yard doesn't, I am sad for you for that, though. We all need a yard.

Hey KK-- I was wondering: if you are doing all this work there anyway...will you be installing some solar panelling? As I recall, there is a bit of sun in Malacca from time to time. ;)

Carolyn I guess it is because of the much smaller yard that made the house look bigger. Yes we all need a yard.

Thanks Barb, I think that space will be filled once it is ready.

Yes Sjoerd there is lots of sunshine here but I am not installing solar panel here because it is way too costly about 3/4 the cost of a average house. We have a very large solar panel manufacturer right here in Malacca and also a "Solar Valley" generating power for the national grid. It is just political and our power rates just went up beginning this year.
