Hi Founterior,..i agree Orchids are beauties,..they are so hard to care for from pollination to seed to seedlings and then the actual plant,..if a person had the right conditions they could grow Orchids,..however its the time lapse from seed to plant that restricts us to just the wild Orchids and even then its a specialized side of gardening.
Hi Dasky,..delighted to find another interested member,..lots to find out in these videos. I thought I'd add to the videos, although when I tried to log-in to some of the earlier posts they are now private and I was unable to watch them. Not sure why :-? I was enjoying the first in the series watering seedlings and slug prevention http://youtu.be/WSgxidW9dCM by Patrick Whitefield on You Tube. We don't seem to have any gardening programs any more here in the US. If there are any others out there you enjoy please help me get my rainy day gardening fix the name of the presenter in case of country differences for accessing videos please
Jewell, I have noticed that too: no gardening shows in the US anymore I have found the 'How to Be a Gardener' series by just going directly to Youtube. There are some radio shows, one of which is 'Margaret at A Way to Garden' My husband found it for me and taped some podcasts. She also has a website with some videos available: http://awaytogarden.com/ If others know of gardening shows, I would be interested too.
Thanks CM for suggesting "How to Be a Gardener". I put in "How to be a Gardener" into You Tube and then subscribed to the Nature NCO, the producers of the program. This brought up a great selection of quality programs. It was good to see all those great BBC shows. Sometimes searching YouTube doesn't bring up what I am looking for so this was really great :-D
The Bip--Yeah, I really like that guy. I like the opening series of him "as a boy" interested in plants & gardening. Jewell--Thanks for the tip re Nature NCO. I will do the same! This website is so great.
Hi Folks,..i will start posting more on How To Be A Gardener,..shortly,..i thought perhaps you had enough so i will find some more,..thanks for all the interest. Video===Monty Don,..Gardeners World ( photo / image / picture from Philip Nulty's Garden )
