Stepson is a pilot for ETMC here. He said it has rained all around us but none here either. Its bone dry. Horses are stirring up dust clouds. We sure need a rain. Takes me three days to water all these fruit trees. Two more to go and finished for a while.

Alot was neglected during the 3 years the previous owner lived here. There's a 15 year old pear tree, crape myrtle bush, wysteria, mock orange(?) that hasn't been pruned. It looked great when the original owner had it from the pics I've seen.

I love apple pear cake, have you ever had it? So moist & delicious!

My yard is beginning it's 8th week with no rain, it and I are not very happy about it either. I have black clay so there are no dust clouds....except for the dust of the dry dead plants that gets stirred up....but we have cracks in the soil that are a good 12 inches deep in spots.

There have been pop-up showers all around us but that's the problem, they are around us but not on top of us

I make a fresh apple cake but not an apple pear cake. You will have to post the recipe in the Recipes and Cooking forum. My pears are the hard, fall, type that make fantastic pear preserves but I have never been able to cook them tender any other way.My tree is loaded this year. Got to get busy.
