    Beautiful pictures, Love springers, such friendly dogs. Hudson reminds me of my Jackie. She is a Jack Russell, Rat Terrier mix with a wirey coat. The face is the same. Our other dog is Shelbie, a smooth collie mix that we adopted from the Humane Society.

    Sounds like a good day for a dunk in the lake. While Molly might 'live' in the water I'm not sure about Hudson. Does Hudson go in the water any more?

    Hi Carol Blue-Garcia,
    Molly is a real pet,..loves affection,..and very gentle with the cats,..but there is another side though it seldom comes to the surface,..i suppose its the hunting dog side of her,..she will plough through anything,.. including people,.. if she is after something or if provoked,..even i will not provoke her,..she is very strong.

    Hudson has the brains,..i used to just point or beckon,..no need to speak she understood hand movements,..you are right about her being like your Jackie,..Hudson is half Jack Russell,..it shows in the face,..and half Beagle,..she is now almost 17 years and 8 months.

    Hi Jerry,
    the weather was very much like dunking in the lake,..well for Molly and myself,..poor Hudson is beyond swimming now,..the back legs are very weak though i let her bathe in shallow water and keep a very close watch as she has very bad eyesight and is apt to walk in the wrong direction.

    What sweethearts. Hudson brought tears to my eyes; my daughter's Beagle/Shepherd mix had to be put down earlier this year. She was 16 years old & we picked her out from a friend's litter when she was 8 weeks old. I miss her so much & daughter is still heartbroken. Her name was "Didjereedoo".... Didj for short & she had an amazingly privileged life. My daughter has no children & Didj got the very best of everything. Enjoy those sweeties. BTW, excellent pics.!

    I'm torn whether to have my daughter take a look at the pics. of Hudson.... don't want to make her sadder than she already is. It's really eerie just how identical Didj & Hudson do look.Maybe i'll just ask her if she'd like to see another sweet old lady who looks just like our Didj.

    So happy they both at least get to go wading. Especially with those hot temps you're having.

    Hi Cheryl,
    poor old Hudson just wades,..the old legs are not great and she is aware of this,..gets nervous and stumbles,..whereas Molly dives in like a teenager,lol.

    Hi luvdirtyhands1,
    its very hard to know just what to do,..though your daughter will be reminded of Didjereedoo from time to time no matter how you try to avoid mentioning her loss,..still its only earlier this year she lost Didjereedoo,..none of us ever forget our pets,..every day i have Hudson is an extension as she is on borrowed time now,..17 years and 8 months,..but not suffering,..bad eyesight,..hearing and weak back legs senile dimentia into the bargain,..but the Hudson of old still shines through,..i made the video below about a year ago,..i keep updating Hudsons age in the information.

    Video===Hudson.
