We've always talked to our girl, Sassy Marie, just like she is a person, so she has a big "vocabulary".
When we first moved home, my brothers thought we were nuts because of how we interacted with her. Then they realized that she knows exactly what we are saying to her. It's not just "sit, stay, or come". It's more like... "If you want me to play with you, go get your toy and bring it to me." And she does.
She's even got "the dragon" right in her paws... snuggles up at his feet... and now he's even bringing her frisbees to play with.
Remember that Peanuts/Charlie Brown book..."Happiness Is A Warm Puppy"?

What a beautiful photo of Molly & the kittie Philip, they blend so well together, worthy of a frame I think.

The old girl is really showing signs of age,..i am sure of course its Senior Dementia,..it just came on,..i was away for five days,..when i came back Hudson really acted strange on my return,..standing waiting for the hinge side of the door to open,..wandering constantly around and around the house,..and the garden,..letting her out to the yard,..then minutes later she wants out again and again,..but not going to the toilet,..the old head is mixed up.

Hi Philip. Oh, Hudson, bless her heart! What a sweet doggy.
We are dealing with a senior canine here also. Some days it really tugs at my heart. Missy just sleeps and sleeps.
As for Molly, she appears full of energy. what a character :D

    Hi Kay,
yes we are both in the same position with Missy and Hudson,.. age wise,..while Hudson sleeps i have often changed clothes,..gone shopping to the Supermarket then returned put away the shopping to find Hudson never woke up from the time i left the house.

I have to leave the glass sliding door open from the time she heads out to the yard otherwise she charges back straight into the glass door,..when she wants out,..she forgets why,..and comes back inside only to turn around and want out again  .

Once she is not in pain or uncomfortable that's fine with me,..i give her food now to help aging joints,..mmmm i might try some myself.

Molly,..yes Goofy, but a very happy dog,so full of energy and curiosity.

While on our required daily walk around the block today, Missy veered off the sidewalk and just stood there like she had forgotten what we were doing. She does have a lot of senior moments.
Gosh we love our old girl.
