Hummingbirds Love the Rain!

    Bunkie I love your photos too.I have never seen hummers that color before .The ones around here are greens and grays with white necks and some with red necks.

    glandann, these are really irradescent with the 'flash' that i think might be causing the yellowish effect. actually they're grayish with purple and red throats.

    i had a similar experience capt. kirk last year. i set the hose and sprayer on a bucket to water some squash in the garden and noticed the hummers hanging around! even in the mornings when i might water a little here and there, there's always a hummer sitting nearby eyeing the water spray and eventually flying over to it.

    It does seem to enjoy the rain, we need to get us a hummingbird feeder. :stew2:

    Don't know that I've seen so many at one time. they seem to like the rain and your feeder. Great job.
