Well, I am still here. No wind or rain yet! News reports just keep talking about New Orleans and Baton Rouge. I wish they would talk about the direction the wind will be going. The front of my mobile home is 4 feet off the ground, the back 2 feet. So I'm on a bit of a hill. I was thinking about staying here, I just hate to leave. But my little Lexi doesn't like the rain and thunder. My son said as high as the house is, all it would take is one strong burst of wind. And I would be up side down. :-o
That did happen during a tornado here near us, Gaylyn. I would be safe rather than sorry. Take shelter if you can. Gardengater
According to the weather trackers, the remnants of Gustav won't reach your area until tonight/tomorrow early. Check out http://www.stormpulse.com/hurricane-gustav-2008 You can keep an eye on it's track and approximate time and strength. It is not even coming here as of the latest prediction. Sometime Wednesday, after it has left you it will take a sharp turn to the north and at that point will be weakened to a Tropical Depression with winds less than 39 miles per hour. We will be on the back side and will be lucky if we get sprinkles.
