I talked to Mama just a little bit ago. She finally got the generator to work and her and Kevin are watching tv. It's not big enough to run her air conditioner, but the weather is being nice to them and the high temps have been in the 80's. She was going to try to get online now that her phone is working again.I'll update as much as I can.
a big thankyou to those out there who keep us updated. We miss our stewbies and it helps to let us know whats going on and that their safe. Can't wait to have Glendann back with us.
Thanks to all of you wonderful friends and to all that kept everyone updated I talked to Dooley Cajunbelle Kuntrygal and Statsmom as often as I could or we could get through .Thanks for helping keep my sanity .I feel real special as so many was worrying about me and Kevins safety. My neighbors Tammy and Howard watched over us too.My brother Sonny got up out of bed came to help me with the generator when it blew the straight pipe off and I couldn't kill it.Howard rescued me that night as after Sonny got the pipe back on we couldn't get it to start.Howard came over and started it when he came home.Howard and Tammy kept us in drinking water also. Its great to have good neighbors .Its been an interesting week to say the least. The good thing is Woody's Smokehouse in Centerville (Where Kevin works) kept us in hot water for bathing and we didn't go dirty. We used the bath water for flushing commodes. We cooked on a big pit and I had coffee every morning.I had 2 bricks and a little rack from something and I lit 2 of my 3 wick candles and slid them under the rack which the bricks held the rack up high enough for the candles to breath it took a while in a small pan but the water boiled an I had boiling hot instant coffee every morning.Where there is a will there is a way. Just glad I have power now.I'm glad I have a house and we are alive to tell about it as so many are not so lucky. THANKS AGAIN FOR CARING MY FRIENDS as it means the world to me.
Boy, Glenda, it sounds like you pulled some Boy Scout tricks and tips out of your hat. I don't know that I would have thought of the candles to boil the water for coffee! Like you say, where there is a will there's a way.
