I'm a weirdo, It was actually the science that got me interested in gardening in the first place. But I'm like that with everything, I'm never satisfied knowing that something works, I need to know how and why. I find it really exciting to learn about things like new studies into "plant intelligence" and how they respond to different colors of light... It doesn't necessarily help the end result mind you, but I enjoy staring at a plant and picturing whats going on inside, how it started, and how it will develop in the future.
Thirty odd years ago when I started my own garden it was a joy to just dig into the soil with my bare hands. Thirty years later and a lot of happy plants I still sit on the ground and the soil still feels good in my fingers, it's the only way I'd have it. Jerry
Masket, you are NOT a weird-o! Some folks enjoy knowing why, and some just enjoy whatever comes along. Different strokes for different folks, and we all enjoy gardening in our own way! If I need to know something about plant intelligence, I now know who to ask. Anyone up on "chicken intelligence"?
am a simple gardener I didn't plant any veg this year and am going to miss that, but we do have a couple farm markets around us so hope that will sufface for this year. I have sandy soil around here and we had a late start of spring warm days.
