will the vine root if you stick it in water, or in dirt?? Maybe you can turn this into more plants?? I'd give it a try if it were me.

I would be annoyed too. When you hire a *professional* you are hoping/expecting to avoid these things but unfortunately it's not always the case. Been there myself...
