Although it looked like it for a bit there, spring has balked again here. It's pouring down today and very chilly to boot.

It will come in eventually. Here it is 30' and we have 8" of new snow and more predicted for the weekend. Maybe I will get my taters in the ground next week ? Average last frost here is April 18th, but that is not guaranteed. I have seen 30s in May around here.

Here I was sitting and wishing for some sunshine. At least the temp is supposed to get up to 80 degs. Guess I'll just go out and find something to do, like dig in the dirt. I won't even have to dig through 8 inches of snow and break the ice.

AA, Sorry to hear this for you, too. We just have the cold. Every morning I am thawing the rabbit waterers and dumping the chickens ice out before hauling another bucket of water to their pen...

Dooley...I'm finding it hard to dig up sympathy  with those temperatures. Maybe we could trade for a week or two...
I heard this morning we are to have this type of weather through mid April

Since a lot of Robins stay here now,the buzzard is the real harbringer of spring.I saw 1 at the side of the road yesterday. He was huddled up & wishing he'd stayed south longer.

OHHHH, the buzzards. Yeah, I saw a couple just the other day picking at a deer just around the corner... They are supposed to be the harbinger of Spring here, too. We have a huge festival for them  http://kimh039.hubpages.com/hub/Buzzard ... ckley-Ohio I can't say I have ever attended, but maybe I will have to give it a try next year just to tell you about it. This is just up the road about 1/2 hour. It's not like there is a whole lot of gardening to do on this particular day.

Forecast for the following week says cold but sunny. The temps are in °C and measured on an island further west. We're usually 2-3 degrees colder.

Yeah, Droopy....did your country develop a new symbol? What is that supposed to represent. Our box thingy that the weather guessers use are mostly grey with whit splotches all over them, maybe you could have a chat with the universal weather guru and tell them we want one that reflects happiness...maybe like little smiley faces or something. Thanks :-D

We had a major tease last week when it went up the mid 70's (Central North Carolina). Of course it's been in the 50's, low 50's all this week, with a few dips into the freezing zone at night (My broccoli got some burns from that). Here's what will usually happen in NC, We'll have another week of cold, then a week or two of warm, then it will jump into the 90's with 100% humidity!

Last time that it hasn't gotten above 50 for month of March is 1965. And just enough snow last to make it slick. Will not be many at church.

Our weatherman said that next Sat. we might get up to 40 degrees. I believe it when I feel it. Thankfully the last storm missed Wis. I feel for those in the mid states who are being affected by it. :stew1:

We've had lots and lots of sun this winter, and it's nice being outside during the day. The only drawback is that I can't do anything in the garden since the ground's frozen.
