Thank you very much for your too kind words and nice compliments! I'm blushing now. The Aquilegia "Nora Barlow" is a columbine that looks like it's got a bad hair day. I like it a lot. Since aquilegias cross-breed so freely the result of self-seeding might be any colour looking like it needs it's hair done or you might get ordinary-looking aquilegias. I thought it looked like a rabbit too, on it's way to check out the neighbour's garden. I don't know why some aquilegias face up and some down but I do know that some of the very old brees are shorter than the average aquilegia and have upwards-facing blooms and rather short spurs. I guess it's just in the mix somewhere. Of course, there you have it. You're welcome to use whatever you find that you like. I'll be very proud if you get inspiration from my photos. That's the whole point of sharing, isn't it? You're welcome. I couldn't have afforded them either if it hadn't been for a wonderful garden friend who propagate hers and sell them for a reasonable price. I hope you'll have your dream come through sooner rather than later. I think the cost of the plane fare would justify a few litres of the very best tea. It's a shame you're so far away. I do hope there are some who will. I like them because they have so many different shapes and colours. Where we are they just grow, bloom and self-seed so I guess they like chilly and wet.
Oooh, so many pretty blooms! This is truly inspiring Droopy... I love the alium combined with the trollius... The color combo and als the textures... yum! Also like that oxcallis trailing over the rocks... hmmm, ideas are brewing.
