The fox is definitely a bonus - though my kids were discussing whether the string was coming from his mouth or his nose, lol.

Hey look - my 1000th post! Never thought I'd get there. ;-)

ZZ, when you hit 500, you get to choose an 'official' designation. It is like a rite of passage, rather like earning a merit badge. Primsong is 'flower of the shire', I am 'official garden philosopher.' You are close to 500 posts. What will your name be? Or are you going to keep us in suspense?

Ah hah, I wondered where those came from. You caught me wondering, Jan. ;)
I guess I've got some thinking to do.

Zuzu sorry I forgot to mention that about the 500 posts rite of passage. Thanks for the reminder Jan. Details about it are here:

And well done Prim, that's awesome! I remember when you first joined that you said you may not have a lot of time to post here. I guess that's blown right out the window right now :D

I certainly see what she means - I'm sure you've been sneaking more and more into that cupboard 'cause I'm positive it's getting fuller every time I look at it!!!! :D :D

My grandmother had jadeite too but I was never allowed to even touch any of it - I wonder where it all ended up?

Back when we ran an antique shop, I remember selling some of this glass. It was not common at all where we lived in Wisconsin so I never saw much of it. I like your collection.

LOVE THAT JADEITE! Especially the big batter bowl :-D
After seeing the churchs, the creamers and the jadeite I've decided to keep some of my special christmas collectibles out of storage and display them all year!
    Thanks ya'all

I never saw jadeite around here until the antique shops took over my home town. Lots of other colors of glassware, though, and grandmas china cabinet was a marvelous hodgepodge of stuff who'se value was entirely sentimental. (good thing too, when Mom gave the house to a cousin, she (the cousin) promptly opened an antique store! Glad I took out my favorite "worthless" stuff!)
